OVERVIEW

The primary focus of this position is to implement the vision for the ministry to students, children, and families at Mission Church by providing leadership to Mission Students (teaching, leading volunteers, and discipleship) and Mission Kids (supporting Kids Directors and teaching).

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Oversees, recruits, and equips volunteers for Student Ministry and Kids Ministry (to support Mission Kids Directors)
    • Arranges and coordinates program elements for Student Ministry
    • Implements the discipleship pathway for children and students
    • Creates and leads events (including Camp Rock, retreats, and mission trips)
    • Manages (in conjunction with the supervisor) the department’s budget

    • Minimum basic working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Ministry degree preferred
    • Minimum 3 years working with children or teenagers in a church setting (volunteer or vocationally)
    • Experience working in a problem-solving environment
    • Experience managing staff and/or volunteer teams

JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Personal and growing relationship with Jesus
    • Strong understanding of the mission of Mission Church
    • Ability to work according to the ministry schedule – in the office, Wednesday evenings, Sunday mornings, etc.
    • Must be a member of Mission Church or become a member upon employment, and participate in a small group
    • Adhere to Mission Church’s Gospel & Discipleship statement
    • Over 18 years old with a valid driver’s license
    • Ability to routinely carry, lift, and move at least 30 lbs.
