Mission Church Updates

Wednesday, March 18, 2020

Hey Church Family,

Here is a personal video message from Pastor Jerry with an update about our plans as a church moving forward.

The plan is to broadcast our service and interact with our small groups for church online.

The Details of Plan:

1. One Online Only Live Service Time at 9:00 AM
One online only service at 9:00 AM allows for us to all worship together at the same time. We believe it will be powerful and incredibly encouraging to know we are worshiping Christ and studying His Word together. Please share the links and plan to come online at 9:00 AM! The service will be available to be shared and replayed Sunday afternoon.

The best ways to watch live online are:

2. Small Group Interaction Directly after the Service (Live Video Group Technology)
We are working to implement technology that will allow us to “assemble” and interact with our small groups like we did last week, only now online.  We believe this will prove to be a crucial part of this ministry and shepherding plan. The online service will continue to include the worship, prayer, and preaching that we are used to but meeting in your online small group will allow us to have the personal contact church is called to have. More clarity and instructions will be sent out once we implement the technology and meet with the small group leaders.

3. Children’s Ministry Teaching Link
The children’s ministry team is working to provide activities and a link to view a children’s lesson that stays in theme with what the children were scheduled to learn in their Mission Kids classes. Feel free to view the children’s link at a time that is best for you and your family.

4. Student Ministry Chats with Pastor Jared.
If anyone knows how to use technology, it is our teens. Pastor Jared had a great time of encouragement via video conference today with many of our teens. He will be reaching out to you as parents with upcoming times to continue to have video chats with our teens to encourage and disciple them during this time. At this point it looks likely that he is shooting for during the daytime since they are currently off of school.

5. Online Prayer Groups
Pastor Nate is working to organize an online prayer group schedule so be looking for that as well. A number of our pastors and leaders will participate. Currently online prayer groups are scheduled daily at 3:00 PM and 7:00 PM, Monday – Friday. Click here at the appropriate times to join the Prayer Meetings.

6. A Gift For You
As a gift from Mission Church to your family, you’ll be receiving an email to access RightNow Media. It is like a Neflix of Christian content for adults, students, and children. We hope this is helpful to you, especially as children and students are home from school right now. If you are a guest to Mission Church, email Lisa Self, our Ministry Director of Hospitality & Assimilation to receive this FREE gift.

7. Additional Resources

We know that you are having to face a lot of change right now. We believe that focusing on the core functions of worshiping, studying God’s Word, caring for one another in small groups, and discipling our children and youth will keep us on a path of unity, strength, and growth. Just to encourage you, I was able to sign visitor letters this of people who visited our online service and filled out the digital friendship register. God is so good! Let us remember that, no matter what we face, our God is in control and He has blessed us with this day that He has made. May we all center ourselves on Christ and learn to rejoice and be glad in it.

You are loved!

Jerry Lingenfelter
