Colossians 4:2 (ESV)

2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving.

“What percentage of your words were devoted to prayer this past week?”

Wow! This question wrecked me. What about you? Would you be brave enough to answer it? I mean, if there was ever a time to stay “steadfast in prayer,” it’s now. I really don’t need to go on in describing the need. We are all living it everyday. We all may have opinions on the priorities that are filling our prayers, but I can’t imagine any disciple of Jesus disagreeing that the time to pray is now!

Ok. So, knowing we all agree on the need to pray, what can we do about our answer to the opening question? If you are satisfied with your answer, I apologize for assuming otherwise.  But honestly, I have yet to meet a Christian who doesn’t wish they prayed more. So again, what can we do?  Well, for starters, this Sunday we can dig into Colossians 4:2. Secondly, we can immediately put into practice what we learn form the verse. And thirdly, we can carry the practice into the week. If that sounds good with you, let’s go!

This Sunday is going to be another special Sunday. We are going to allow God’s Word to guide us in worship and prayer, which will then propel us into a concentrated week of prayer and fasting as a church. Please join us. We need your presence and your voice as we praise Christ and prayerfully seek His clarity on the path forward for us as a church.

I love you. Our entire leadership loves you dearly. And we all want nothing more than to honor Christ. So, here it is. God is calling us to pray. When we pray, God gives clarity. We shouldn’t expect Him to do it any other way.

I can’t wait to come to the Lord together this Sunday. Here are the songs we’ll be singing to help you prepare for worship.

Love you, Church!
