OVERVIEW

The primary focus of this position is to provide leadership in implementing the vision for the ministry to children and families at Mission Church by giving specific oversight to the elementary division (Pre-K – 5th grade), coordinating teacher development and training, curriculum development and overall shepherding of children and families.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, empower, and equip Kids Ministry teams to lead their respective ministries effectively
  • Curriculum oversight to implement, edit, create, and oversee the execution of children’s curriculum
  • Volunteer oversight through vision implementation, teacher recruitment, support and training, and activity/event planning
  • Shepherd children and partner with families at Mission Church
  • Assist in the management of the department’s budget

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years working with children in a church setting and/or an education setting
  • Background in teaching and/or curriculum writing
  • Experience serving families or children with special needs preferred
  • Experience managing staff and/or volunteer teams, handling and resolving difficult situations in a skilled and professional manner

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Personal and growing relationship with Jesus
  • Strong understanding of the mission of Mission Church
  • Member of Mission Church or become a member upon employment, along with participation in a small group
  • Adhere to the Mission Church’s Gospel & Discipleship statement
  • Ability to routinely carry, lift, and move at least 30 lbs.
  • Able to work with basic cleaning supplies
  • Flexible scheduling
  • Over 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license
