Interactive Scenario-Based Training for Those Who Shepherd and Care for People
We are excited for you to join us at the East Coast Soul Care training weekend. This training is for those who desire to grow in their ability to shepherd, counsel, and help people in the context of relationship and the local church. Our desire is to equip the local church to speak truth in love with both compassion and skill. This training will be interactive and scenario-based to help bring practical answers to real-life situations. There will be time to hear from well-known counselor and psychologist, Dr. Garrett Higbee, time to discuss and strategize with other leaders around you, and opportunities for further questions.
Dr. Garrett Higbee will introduce the idea of the disciple-making “pathway” for your small group or ministry. You’ll learn how to care for your group members, and how to get other members involved in mutual ministry. Dr. Higbee will lead you through four case studies highlighting and addressing common heart issues that often come up in small groups. You’ll work through these cases on your own and with others and receive guidance along the way to see what you did right and where you could improve. Each session will include an open Q&A time to ask your toughest questions regarding mutual discipleship and caring for others. Whether you are a Small Group Leader, Elder, Pastor, Youth Leader, Bible Study Leader, or Biblical Counselor, this training will help to equip you and sharpen your skills in discerning effective biblical care for those who are hurting.
This training is ideal for those actively shepherding and caring for others and also for those who desire to grow into these areas of care. Couples are encouraged to register for the training together.
